Kris Versteeg underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a cyst problem that impaired mobility in his left hip.

The Florida Panthers say the right wing, who turns 26 on May 13, is recovering after having the surgery in Nashville, Tenn.

The restricted free agent missed 11 games during the regular season and still established career-bests in goals (23) and points (54), while tying his season-best in assists (31) for the Southeast Division champions. Versteeg also had three goals and two assists in seven playoff games for the Panthers, who lost in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals to the New Jersey Devils.

Versteeg has 88 goals and 201 points in 321 career games with Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto and Florida.
