The Florida Panthers scored in the first two minutes of the first two periods against the New York Islanders on Thursday.

Florida took a 1-0 lead 1:55 into the first period when Teddy Purcell scored, and a 3-2 lead 1:31 into the second period on a goal by Reilly Smith.

The teams were playing Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla.
