"If you are a good player, you should pay attention to the history of hockey and who played before you," Jagr said Saturday. "Without those guys, we wouldn't be playing right now. You see the names and where you are, but after the season is over, I will have more time to think about it.
"Right now, the goal is to feel good for the next game."
Jagr will have a new linemate Saturday. Jiri Hudler is expected to play with Jagr and center Aleksander Barkov for the first time since being traded to Florida by the Calgary Flames.
If Jagr gets his point tonight, only Wayne Gretzky (2,857) and Mark Messier (1,887) will have more points in the NHL.
Arizona has lost seven straight games, been outscored 11-1 in the past two losses and is looking for defensive consistency.
Arizona will be without forward Max Domi, serving a one-game suspension for an instigator penalty in the final five minutes of regulation in a 5-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday.
The Coyotes will have two veterans back in the lineup and another making his Arizona debut.
Center Boyd Gordon returns after missing 13 games with an upper-body injury, and defenseman Zbynek Michalek is back after missing the game against the Ducks with a lower-body injury. Forward Alex Tanguay, acquired from Colorado six days ago, will play his first game after sitting out Thursday.
"Boyd is excited to play and Alex got through a whole practice [Friday] and says he's good to go," Arizona coach Dave Tippett said.
The Coyotes will go back to Louis Domingue in goal after rookie Niklas Treutle allowed five goals on 16 shots in his first NHL start Thursday. The Coyotes sent Treutle back to Springfield of the American Hockey League on Friday and called up Marek Langhamer.
If Langhammer plays, he would be the fifth goalie to play for Arizona this season.
Domingue, who replaced Treutle in the third period Thursday, has lost eight of his past 11 starts and allowed six goals in his prior start, a 6-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday.
