CRANBROOK, B.C. - Dominik Pacovsky scored the only goal of the shootout as the Kootenay Ice extended their winning streak to four games with a 3-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday night.
The Ice (7-5-1-3) opened the scoring on a 5-on-3 power-play as Dustin Sylvester found Andrew Bailey open. Bailey scored on a one-timer for his team-leading third power-play goal.
The Rebels (4-5-0-5) tied it as Cody Gross came off the corner boards and scored on a sharp angle snap shot.
The Ice regained the lead on a third period power-play as Max Reinhart received a behind the net pass from Bailey and lifted a shot from the top of the crease.
The Rebels forced overtime when Cass Mappin backhanded a loose puck from in front of the net.
Thomas Heemskerk made 26 saves for the Ice. Darcy Kuemper stopped 27 shots for the Rebels.
