Owsley makes 24 saves to lead Cougars to 1-0 win over Thunderbirds @NHL

KENT, Wash. - Drew Owsley made 24 saves to lead the Prince George Cougars to a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action Friday.

It was Owsley's third shutout of the season and the 12th of his career.

The Cougars improved to 11-19-2 and won in Kent for the second time this season.

Cody Carlson scored the only goal of the game on a power play 21 seconds into the second period. Carlson's slap shot from the point was his fourth goal of the season and came with assists from Troy Bourke and Martin Marcinin.

Seattle (11-15-1) lost its third straight while Prince George won for the second game in a row. Calvin Pickard stopped 37 of 38 shots for the losing Thunderbirds, who have scored only four goals in their last three games.
