ERIE, Pa. - Steven Shipley, Andrew Wilkins and Mike Lomas scored in the opening eight minutes to pace the Owen Sound Attack to a 3-1 win over the Erie Otters in the Ontario Hockey League on Friday night.
"We were kind of sleepy," said Otters goaltender Jaroslav Janus, who allowed all three goals on seven shots before settling down to stop the Attack's final 28 shots. The 3-0 deficit quickly erased any remaining momentum from the Otters' three-game home sweep last weekend.
Sean Jones' breakaway goal with 6:16 left in the second period provided the Otters with some hope, but it wasn't enough to mount a comeback. Erie managed only five shots on goal in the third.
Scott Stajcer made 30 saves in net for the Attack (8-9-3-1), who snapped a four-game road losing streak.
