WASHINGTON -- The Pittsburgh Penguins advanced to the Eastern Conference Final with a 4-3 overtime win against the Washington Capitals in Game 6 of the second round on Tuesday.
The Penguins will play the Tampa Bay Lightning in the conference final.
Before Pittsburgh moves on, here is one last look inside the in-game and in-series matchup between Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin and Penguins center Sidney Crosby, whose quiet series did not stop his team from winning in six games, including three that went to overtime:

Best moment: Capitals defenseman John Carlson scored the game-tying power-play goal at 13:01 of the third period after a brilliant switch with Ovechkin and a one-timer off a pass from Ovechkin. Instead of staying status quo on the power play, leaving Ovechkin on the left side for the one-timer and Carlson on the right, they threw a curveball at the Penguins and it worked. Ovechkin and Carlson worked the two-man game, switched, and Carlson's shot from the top of the left circle beat Penguins goalie Matt Murray to tie the game.

Ovechkin said it: "It's a missed opportunity and another game that's the last shot. I'm proud of my team, proud of my teammates. I'm proud of this group no matter what happened, but, again, we lost in the second round, so it [stinks]."
Crosby said it:"Relief. We had an opportunity to close it out in Washington and we played a really good game. It wasn't like we went there and sat back. We played a good hockey game and lost, and that happens. Then you get a three goal lead and if they find a way to get that overtime win anything can happen in Game 7, we all know that. I think it's just a lot of relief and you're happy. Just to see guys have success and to see us pull together with a pretty tough situation, it's good and hopefully we can build some confidence from it."
