OTTAWA (CP) - The Ottawa Senators and Chris Kelly have avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a new one-year contract on Tuesday.
Kelly has spent the past two years in Ottawa. He's coming off a season in which he set career highs with 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points.
The Toronto native also had seven points (3-4) while playing in all 20 post-season games.
The 26-year-old Kelly has 78 points (25-43) in 168 regular season games.
