Palmieri, who was injured during practice on Sunday, remains day-to-day and will be re-evaluated by the Devils medical staff Saturday.
Ottawa forward Filip Chlapik made his NHL debut and Max McCormick made his season debut in a 5-4 win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday. Chlapik had one assist, and McCormick had two hits and one blocked shot.

Players to watch

Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson has eight points, all assists, and 15 shots on goal in five games since returning to the lineup against the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 17. Karlsson missed the first five games of the season during his recovery from surgery to repair torn tendons in his left foot on June 14.
Devils center Nico Hischier, the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, has six points (two goals, four assists) and six shots on goal in his past four games.
