Jagr to make home debut for Calgary; Senators without defensemen Karlsson, Oduya

The Game

Jaromir Jagr will make his Scotiabank Saddledome debut with the Calgary Flames, who are seeking their fourth consecutive win when they host the Ottawa Senators on Friday. Jagr, who signed a one-year, $1 million contract on Oct. 4, played 13:38 in his Flames debut, a 4-3 overtime win at the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. The win was Calgary's third in a row after losing 3-0 at the Edmonton Oilers in the season opener on Oct. 4.

Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson, who is recovering from foot surgery on June 14, will miss his fourth straight game. Defenseman Johnny Oduya, who has missed two games because of a lower-body injury sustained in a season-opening 5-4 shootout loss to the Washington Capitals on Oct. 5, rejoined the team in Calgary but will not play.


Players to watch

Senators goaltender Craig Anderson has a 2.15 goals against average and .919 save percentage, and has started each of Ottawa's first three games.

Calgary left wing Johnny Gaudreau has seven points (one goal, six assists) in the past three games. Gaudreau, 24, led the Flames with 43 assists and 61 points in 2016-17.

Status report

Senators coach Guy Boucher said he could use 11 forwards and seven defensemen. ... Lazar, who was a healthy scratch against the Kings, will play on the top line with Gaudreau and Monahan. Ferland will move to the fourth line, and Glass will come out of the lineup after playing the first four games.
