Ottawa 1-4-1 in past six; Arizona hopes to continue recent surge

The Game 

The Arizona Coyotes will try to continue a recent run of success when they host the Ottawa Senators at Gila River Arena on Saturday. Arizona is 7-2-1 in its past 10 games.

The Senators are 1-4-1 in their past six games. Ottawa ended a five-game losing streak (0-4-1) with a 5-4 win over the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena on Friday.

The Senators (54 points) are in seventh place in the Atlantic Division. They are 15 points behind the Carolina Panthers for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference.

The Coyotes (48 points), who began the season 1-12-1, are in last place in the Pacific Division and 18 points behind the Anaheim Ducks for the second wild card into the playoffs from the Western Conference.

 

Players to watch

Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson has five points (one goal, four assists) in his past two games. He has 11 points (one goal, 10 assists) in his past nine games.

Coyotes defenseman Kevin Connauton has nine points (six goals, three assists) in his past 13 games. The six goals are tied with the Calgary Flames Dougie Hamilton for the most goals since Feb. 1 among NHL defensemen.
