Ottawa 67's spoil Battalion's home opener with 2-1 win @NHLdotcom

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Tyler Cuma scored a goal and an assist as the Ottawa 67's edged the Brampton Battalion 2-1 in Ontario Hockey League action on Friday.

In a game that saw all three goals come on the power play, Logan Couture opened the scoring for the visiting 67's at 8:43 of the first period, then Cuma gave Ottawa a 2-0 lead at 17:57.

The home side cut Ottawa's lead in half at 2:39 of the second period when blue-liner Bobby Sanguinetti's wrist shot form the high slot got through traffic and past goaltender Adam Courchaine.

It was the netminder's only blemish on the evening as Courchaine turned aside 41 Battalion shots. Patrick Killeen was also solid between the pipes, making 35 saves for Brampton.

This season marks the 10th in Battalion history and several members of the inaugural squad from the 1998-99 campaign were on hand to take part in pre-game festivities.
