Oshawa Generals forward John Tavares nabs CHL player of the week honours @NHLdotcom

TORONTO - Oshawa Generals forward John Tavares has been named the Canadian Hockey League player of the week.

Tavares had three goals and five assists in two games for the Ontario Hockey League's Generals.

He had a goal and three assists in Oshawa's 7-3 win over the Sudbury Wolves, then recorded two goals and two assists in the Generals' 5-3 win over the Belleville Bulls.

Vancouver Giants forward Michal Repik was the Western Hockey League nominee after he had two goals and six assists in two games, while Brett Morrison of the P.E.I. Rocket got the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League nomination after he registered five goals and two assists in three games.
