Rangers' Lindberg could miss start of next season

Forward has hip surgery; expected to need six months of recovery time

New York Rangers center Oscar Lindberg is expected to miss six months after a successful simultaneous bilateral hip labral repair.

Lindberg, 24, had 13 goals and 15 assists in 68 games this season. He played two games in the Eastern Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Rangers lost the best-of-7 series in five games.
