ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that Blues goaltender Luke Opilka had successful surgery to repair a torn left hip labrum.
Opilka had been dealing with the injury throughout the 2016-17 season while with the Kitchener Rangers.
He is expected to be sidelined until December.

The surgery was performed today by Blues Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. John Clohisy at the Washington University Orthopedic Center.
Last season, Oplika, 20, was 13-13-1 in 31 games for the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League. The St. Louis native was drafted by the Blues in the fifth round (146th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft.
