Ontario Hockey League releases schedule for the 2008-09 season @NHLdotcom

TORONTO - The London Knights and the Saginaw Spirit will kick off the 2008-09 OHL season on Sept. 17 in Saginaw after the league announced its schedule for the upcoming season.

The Kitchener Rangers meanwhile will begin their title defence when they open at home against the Plymouth Whalers on Sept. 19. They take on the Belleville Bulls on Oct. 17 in a rematch of last year's Rogers OHL Championship Series.

The OHL playoffs will start on March 19 and the Memorial Cup will go from May 15-24 in Rimouski, Que.

Teams will play 216 of the league's 680 game schedule on Friday nights as the majority of the games are on the weekend.
