Just prior to the 11 a.m. start time, there was a good sign on the ice as captain Gabriel Landeskog was skating hard in a red, non-contact jersey. Landeskog, who is out with a lower-body injury, then participated in most of the hour-long practice, and Bednar confirmed afterward that he would be on the trip to continue skating.
One player that didn't practice was Fedor Tyutin, who is also out with a lower-body injury, but it appears as if he's making progress. Bednar noted the defenseman felt better today then he did yesterday.
It was also the first Colorado practice for rear guard Cody Goloubef after being recalled from the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League late Sunday night. Goloubef is with his third team in the last week, as he was playing with the Cleveland Monsters in the AHL before being traded to the Colorado organization on Nov. 28.
As soon a practice was over, the Avs stretched, showered, gathered their belongings and headed to the airport for the flight to Music City. The departure was supposed to be 2 p.m. MT, but high winds in the Denver area caused a short delay. The team's charter plane eventually took off at 2:18 p.m. for the roughly two-hour flight to Tennessee.
The Avalanche's flight landed in Nashville at 5:20 p.m. CT, and the team bussed to their downtown hotel, just blocks from the famed Broadway that's home to some of country music's most-known bars and venues. After dropping off their stuff in their hotel rooms, many of the team's players grabbed dinner and checked out a bit of the live music the city offers every night before getting a good night's rest.
