It was game day in Nashville and the Colorado Avalanche was looking to end a losing streak against a tough Predators squad.
On the morning of the Avs' third matchup of the season against the Central Division foe, most the players met in the hotel lobby of their downtown hotel to grab breakfast before heading to Bridgestone Arena for morning skate. Many of the Avs hopped on the 10:00 a.m. bus to the rink, which is just a few blocks away. The first bus left 30 minutes earlier, carrying the few players that needed to go early to get treatment with the trainers prior to practice.

Upon arrival, the Avs immediately got into their workout clothes and began preparing for the day's pre-game skate. Among their preparations were cutting, sanding and taping their sticks, stretching and making sure all their equipment was ready to go.
Some of the players hit the ice a little before 11:30 a.m. and had to wait for the Zamboni to finish surfacing the rink before they could start shooting pucks.
Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog and defenseman Fedor Tyutin, both out with lower-body injuries, shelved their red, non-contact sweaters and wore regular practice jerseys on this day. They were nearly full participants in practice, and head coach Jared Bednar said afterward that Landeskog took a little contact at the end of the session and expects the two players to be full participants in Wednesday's practice in Boston.
Following morning skate, the club then hopped back on the bus for the quick trip to the hotel for pre-game meal and a little rest.
After a nap, some coffee and a little snack, the players took either the 4:00 or 4:45 bus back to the arena for final preparations for that night's contest.
In the game, Matt Duchene scored two power-play goals but Roman Josi's tally on a 5-on-3 man advantage 1:04 in the third period proved to be the game-winner, and the Avalanche fell 4-3 to the Nashville Predators.
Nearly an hour and a half after the final horn at 9:48 p.m. CT, the Avs were wheels up on a flight en route to Boston. The travel time was only 1:49, but the team lost an hour traveling to the Eastern Time Zone so it didn't land until 2:13 a.m. ET.
Exactly thirty minutes after touch down, the squad was at its downtown hotel where the players quickly went to their rooms to get some sleep before Wednesday practice at TD Garden.
