Wahlstrom signs 1-year contract with Islanders

Restricted free agent forward had 16 points in 35 games last season

Oliver Wahlstrom signed a one-year with the New York Islanders on Monday. Financial terms were not announced.

The 23-year-old forward was a restricted free agent. He had 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 35 games for the Islanders last season.

Selected by New York in the first round (No. 11) in the 2018 NHL Draft, Wahlstrom has 61 points (32 goals, 29 assists) in 161 regular-season games and three points (one goal, two assists) in five Stanley Cup Playoff games.
