Arizona Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson is unlikely to play Wednesday against the Vancouver Canucks (10 p.m. ET; FS-A Plus, SN, NHL.TV), coach Dave Tippett told the Coyotes website.
"It doesn't look like he'll play tonight but he's day-to-day and we'll see where it goes," Tippett said. "He's optimistic." Tippett did not specify what Ekman-Larsson's injury was.
Ekman-Larsson is second among defensemen with 19 goals and sixth with 49 points.
If he doesn't play, it would be the first game he has missed since the 2013-14 season. He's played in all 66 games for the Coyotes this season and played all 82 last season.
