Islanders forward Kyle Okposo
has not seen one minute of ice time this season. Sidelined with a torn labrum which he suffered on September 23, Okposo underwent shoulder surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in early October.
Today, prior to the Islanders practice at the Coliseum, Okposo took the ice in full gear for the first time.
“I felt really good,” Okposo said. “It was good to get back on the ice and to get back in the room here with all the guys.”
Sitting at home while your team is playing, and in the Islanders case, struggling is not an easy thing for Okposo to swallow. He said watching has been the hardest part of dealing with his injury.
“I don’t like watching my own team play,” Okposo said. “It’s frustrating. You know that it’s completely out of your control.”
