Patrick Maroon needs work on his hat tossing

Oilers forward caught by teammates needing multiple tries to send gift to fans

Edmonton Oilers forward Patrick Maroon had a goal and an assist against his former team, the Anaheim Ducks, in a 2-1 Oilers win at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Tuesday. Maroon's effort earned him the first star of the game.

But that was when Maroon's night got interesting. After taking a victory lap to celebrate the Oilers victory, the veteran of 220 NHL games needed a few attempts to toss some Oilers hats into the crowd at Rogers Place. Unfortunately for Maroon, his teammates took notice.

Maroon's response was hilarious but factually inaccurate.

Tweet from @patmaroon: @AdamLarsson3 that's what happens when you never get a star

He was the first star of the Oilers' 6-3 win against the San Jose Sharks on March 24 and was the second star of their final home game at Rexall Place, a 6-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks on April 6.
