The Edmonton Oilers forward is facing discipline for clipping Winnipeg Jets defenseman Logan Stanley.
The incident occurred with 8:49 remaining in the third period of Winnipeg's 5-4 overtime win at Bell MTS Place on Sunday.
Archibald was given a minor penalty for tripping.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: clipping. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
