EDMONTON — Edmonton Oilers right wing Jordan Eberle and Calgary Flames goaltender Karri Ramo will be back in the lineup Saturday for the final installment of the Battle of Alberta.
Eberle missed a game Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres with a knee injury. Ramo has not played since sustaining a knee injury Feb. 1 against the Minnesota Wild.
"I feel good, I'm ready to go," Eberle said. "I think I just tweaked an old injury from before. It was good to take a couple days off. I probably wouldn't have been able to play against Buffalo, there was a lot of pain and probably would have hurt it even more. It was good to get a couple of days off and get it back to where I can feel that I can play."
Eberle is second in Oilers scoring this season with 23 goals and 53 points. He scored two goals Tuesday against the Nashville Predators before being injured on his last shift of the game in a collision with Nashville center Mike Fisher.
"I just got kneed late in the game; I think it was an accident and I was lucky there wasn't much damage," Eberle said. "I knew that when he was lying on me, he was kind of saying, 'Sorry.' I know that's the not the kind of player he is, it was just a heat of the moment thing."
Thursday was the second time Eberle has missed a game because of injury this season.
Ramo missed 15 games with his knee injury.
"Karri Ramo is good to go, he was cleared [Friday] so we sent Joni Ortio back to Abbottsford," Flames coach Bob Hartley said. "It's tough [to come back], but that's the unfortunate part of being injured. But Karri is such a great worker, I've seen him in the gym, I've seen him on the ice, he's a great worker and I'm sure that in the first minute he'll have to get his timing back, but the way that he works, I have no worries."
So far, the teams have split their five-game season series with both unable to win at home.
The Flames go into the contest four points ahead of the Oilers at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
