OHL Roundup: Subban brothers lead the Bulls over the 67's @NHLdotcom

Defenceman Jordan Subban extended his point streak to five games and goaltender Malcolm Subban made 34 saves as the Belleville Bulls doubled up the host Ottawa 67's 6-3 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Jordan Subban had a goal and an assist for Belleville and during his run he's produced four goals and 11 points. With 48 points in 58 games, the 17-year-old sits in a tie with Ryan O'Connor of the Barrie Colts for fourth in scoring for OHL defencemen.

Malcolm Subban earned his ninth win in his last 10 starts and improved to 25-9-3 on the season. He currently leads the OHL with a 2.22 goals-against average and is second in save percentage at .932.

Aaron Berisha, Alan Quine, Daniil Zharkov and Brady Austin also had a goal and an assist each for the Bulls (38-14-6), who extended their win streak to nine games, while Joseph Cramarossa chipped in with two assists.

Quine has produced 33 points in 19 games with Belleville since being acquired from the Peterborough Petes on Jan. 10th.

Tyler Graovac, who started the season as a member of the 67's, scored once for the Bulls and now has five goals in his last four contests.

Sean Monahan scored two goals for the 67's (15-41-4), who are winless in seven games, and Brett Gustavsen had a goal and an assist.

Ottawa's Jacob Blair turned away 24-of-30 shots.

The Bulls went 2 for 7 on the power play while the 67's scored twice on six chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Kitchener 2, Brampton 1; Kingston 6, Erie 3; Guelph 7, Sudbury 2; London 3, Saginaw 2; Sault Ste. Marie 4, Mississauga 3; Windsor 6, Plymouth 5 and Oshawa 4, Peterborough 1.

At Ottawa, Zharkov and Quine scored to give Belleville a 2-0 lead in the first period, however Monahan and Gustavsen responded 1:25 apart to tie the game heading into first intermission.

Jordan Subban restored the lead for the Bulls 6:10 into the second period and Austin made it 4-2 at 16:53.

Graovav made it 5-2 for Belleville midway through the third period before Monahan scored his second of the game for Ottawa.

Berisha added another goal for the Bulls at 17:22, which led to Jordan Subban dropping the gloves with Joseph Blandisi.

At Brampton, Ont., Joshua Leivo scored the eventual winner at 15:11 of the second period and Joel Vienneau stopped 27-of-28 shots as Kitchener (35-17-8) edged the Battalion (28-22-9), who had their three-game win streak halted.

At Erie, Pa., Sam Bennett had two goals and two assists and Spencer Watson scored twice and added an assist as Kingston (24-29-5) handed the Otters (17-36-8) their fifth straight defeat.


Storm 7 Wolves 2

At Guelph, Ont., Patrick Watling scored once and set up two more and Ryan Horvat, Jason Dickinson and Scott Kosmachuk each had a goal and an assist as the Storm (34-20-5) crushed Sudbury (26-23-11)


Knights 3 Spirit 2

At London, Ont., Alex Broadhurst scored the winning goal at 13:38 of the third period and Anthony Stolarz stopped 22 of 24 as the Knights (43-12-4) downed Saginaw (29-25-6) for their fourth win in a row.


Greyhounds 4 Steelheads 3

At Mississauga, Ont., Andrew Fristch scored the winner with 2:35 remaining in regulation and Matt Murray made 28 saves as Sault Ste. Marie (33-21-5) came from behind to defeat the Steelheads (25-29-5) for its fourth win in its last five outings.


Spitfires 6 Whalers 5

At Windsor, Ont., Alex Aleardi scored two goals and added three assists and Kerby Rychel had a goal and two assists as the Spitfires (24-29-7) snapped Plymouth's (34-7-9) eight-game win streak


Generals 4 Petes 1

At Oshawa, Ont., Scott Sabourin scored two goals and Daniel Altshuller stopped 22-of-23 shots for his league-leading 32nd victory of the season as the Generals (34-21-4) downed Peterborough (21-31-7).
