OHL Roundup: Ritchie, Bailey lead Greyhounds in 7-5 win over Steelheads @NHL

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Nick Ritchie scored the tiebreaking goal on the power play in the third period, and Justin Bailey had two goals and two assists to lead the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to a 7-5 win over the Mississauga Steelheads in Ontario Hockey League action on Friday.

Zachary Senyshyn, Connor Boland, Michael Bunting and Jean Dupuy ? into an empty net at 18:45 of the third ? rounded out the attack for Sault Ste Marie (34-9-2), which outshot its opponent 45-21 in earning its sixth straight victory.

Jimmy Lodge had two goals and a helper to lead the Steelheads (18-24-3). Jared Walsh, Everett Clark, and Bryson Cianfrone also scored.

Greyhounds goalie Brandon Halverson started in net, giving up three goals on 16 shots through 38:35. Joseph Raaymakers stopped 3-of-5 shots in relief.

Mississauga's Jacob Brennan shouldered the loss with 38 saves.

Sault Ste. Marie scored three times on four power-play opportunities. The Steelheads were 1 for 3 with the man advantage.



ST. CATHARINES, Ont. ??? Brendan Perlini scored two goals and Carter Verhaeghe added three assists to power the IceDogs past Plymouth.

Blake Siebenaler, Anthony DiFruscia, and Graham Knott also scored for Niagara (19-21-4), which has picked up points in nine straight games.

Mathew Campagna had the lone goal for the Whalers (15-25-3), finding the back of the net on a power play at 19:06 of the first period.



GUELPH, Ont. ??? Cory Genovese scored the winner with nine seconds left in regulation to lead Erie past the Storm.

Connor McDavid and Dylan Strome supplied the rest of the Otters (32-9-3) offence as Erie earned its fourth straight victory.

Tyler Bertuzzi scored both goals for Guelph (25-17-3).



KITCHENER, Ont. ??? Mike Davies scored the tiebreaking goal at 1:42 of the third period and the Rangers held on to edge Kingston.

David Miller had a first-period power-play goal for Kitchener (20-14-9) while Darby Llewellyn picked up two assists.

Shawn Tessier replied for the Frontenacs (17-18-7).



LONDON, Ont. ??? Max Domi scored shorthanded and added an assist to help the Knights dominate Sarnia for their third win in a row.

Chandler Yakimowicz also had a goal and a helper for London (28-13-3) while Owen MacDonald, Aaron Berisha, Chris Martenet and Mitchell Marner rounded out the attack.

Hayden Hodgson scored on the power play for the Sting (22-17-5), and assisted on Alexandre Renaud's goal.


67'S 2 BULLS 0

OTTAWA ??? Leo Lazarev turned aside all 23 shots he faced as the 67's blanked Belleville.

Alex Lintuniemi had a goal and an assist for Ottawa (24-18-2) and Curtis Meighan also scored. Jeremiah Addison assisted on both 67's goals.

Connor Hicks made 32 saves for the Bulls (19-19-6).



SUDBURY, Ont. ??? Devon Paliani's goal at 11:28 of the third stood up as the winner as Saginaw topped the Wolves.

Jacob Ringuette scored on a power play and Tye Felhaber rounded out the offence for the Spirit (20-22-2). Chase Stewart chipped in with two assists.

Danny Desrochers had a two-point night with a goal and a helper for Sudbury (7-33-2), which dropped its 10th straight. Matt Schmalz also scored.



OSHAWA, Ont. ??? Matt Mistele scored twice and added an assist as the Generals beat North Bay for their third straight victory.

Brent Pederson and Cole Cassels had a goal and an assist apiece for Oshawa (34-7-2) while Michael Dal Colle also scored.

Mike Amadio scored once for the Battalion (21-11-9) and helped on goals by Ray Heuther and Nick Paul.
