OHL Roundup: Nylander leads Steelheads over IceDogs with four-point night

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Alexander Nylander had two goals and two assists as the Mississauga Steelheads downed the host Niagara IceDogs 5-3 on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Michael McLeod also struck twice for the Steelheads (15-12-2), who have won three straight games, and Ryan McLeod added the other. Nathan Bastian tacked on three helpers.

Josh Ho-Sang, Nick Pastorious and Anthony DiFruscia found the back of the net for the IceDogs (13-11-2).

Mississauga's Jack Flinn made 28 saves for the win as Brent Moran kicked out 26-of-31 shots for Niagara.

The Steelheads went 4 for 7 on the power play while the IceDogs scored once on five chances with the man advantage.

Mississauga defenceman Sean Day was handed a game misconduct at 15:49 of the first period for checking from behind.

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. ? Juho Lammikko scored once and set up two more and Lucas Peressini made 27 saves as Kingston handed the Petes their first regulation-time loss in 10 outings.

Spencer Watson, Robbie Burt, Ryan Cranford, Jason Robertson and Roland McKeown also scored for the Frontenacs (17-8-2), who have won three straight.

Greg Betzold and Eric Cornel supplied the offence for Peterborough (14-10-4), which entered on an 8-0-1 run. Dylan Wells stopped 37-of-43 shots in a losing cause.

WINDSOR, Ont. ??? Mathieu Henderson scored 35 seconds into the extra period as Flint handed the Spitfires their third loss in a row.

Ryan Moore, Vili Saarijarvi and Cullen Mercer also scored for the Firebirds (13-11-2), who got a 29-save outing from Alex Nedeljkovic.

Mikhail Sergachev struck twice for Windsor (16-8-4) while Hayden McCool added a goal and an assist. Michael DiPietro made 18 saves in defeat.
