OHL Roundup: Jake Marchment scores hat trick as Otters beat Generals @NHLdotcom

OSHAWA, Ont. - The good times keep on rolling for the Erie Otters.

Jake Marchment scored a hat trick as Erie beat the Oshawa Generals 7-4 on Friday night in a rematch of last season's Ontario Hockey League final.

Nick Betz added a goal and two assists for the Otters (8-0-0), who won their eighth straight. Jordan Sambrook, Alex DeBrincat and Taylor Raddysh all had a goal and an assist apiece.

Anthony Cirelli, Kenny Huether, Lukas Lofquist and Sam Harding supplied the offence for Oshawa (4-5-1).

Jake Lawr made 20 saves for the win in net. Liam Devine started in goal for the Generals, but was pulled after turning aside 21-of-26 shots in 40 minutes. Logan Gauthier kicked out nine shots in relief.

Erie went 2 for 3 on the power play while Oshawa converted on both of its opportunities.

Generals defenceman Stephen Templeton was assessed a match penalty for slashing at the 20:00 minute mark of the third period.



KINGSTON, Ont. ? Conor McGlynn scored the winner in a shootout and added another in regulation as the Frontenacs edged Peterborough for their third-straight win.

Jason Robertson also scored in the shootout for Kingston (5-1-2) and chipped in during regulation. Roland McKeown rounded out the attack.

Eric Cornel, Greg Betzold and Josh Maguire found the back of the net for the Petes (5-3-2).

The game was delayed for 20 minutes in the third period after several lights in the K-Rock Centre went out.



SUDBURY, Ont. ??? Danny Desrochers scored the winner shorthanded in the second period as the Wolves topped North Bay.

Alan Lyszczarczyk opened the scoring for Sudbury (3-6-0), with Chad Heffernan adding an empty-netter.

Zach Bratina had the lone goal for the Battalion (4-5-0).



SARNIA, Ont. ??? Sasha Chmelevski had a hat trick as the Sting handed Sault Ste. Marie its third-straight loss.

Alex Black and Pavel Zacha had the others for Sarnia (6-2-1).

Hayden Verbeek scored both goals for the Greyhounds (4-3-2).



FLINT, Mich. ??? Vili Saarijarvi scored twice and added an assist as the Firebirds snapped Ottawa's five-game winning streak.

Alex Peters, Francesco Vilardi, Connor Chatham, Josh Wesley and Jacob Collins provided the rest of the offence for Flint (5-3-1). Will Bitten added four assists.

Jeremiah Addison, Jacob Middleton, Evan de Haan and Sam Studnicka had goals for the 67's (5-4-0).



GUELPH, Ont. ??? Aaron Luchuk scored the eventual winner in the second period as Windsor edged the Storm.

Bradley Latour tied the game at 1-1 with a power-play goal in the first period for the Spitfires (6-1-2).

Garrett McFadden started the scoring for Guelph (1-5-1).



KITCHENER, Ont. ??? Adam Mascherin scored his second of the game at 1:47 of overtime as the Rangers slipped past Owen Sound.

Brandon Robinson opened the scoring for Kitchener (4-0-3) in the first period.

Jonah Gadjovich and Josh Sterk found the back of the net for the Attack (4-3-2).

Owen Sound's Jacob Friend received a match penalty for slew footing at 2:11 of the third period.



LONDON, Ont. ??? Aaron Berisha struck twice as the Knights toppled Saginaw.

Owen MacDonald and JJ Piccinich also scored for London (5-1-2), while Christian Dvorak added two helpers.

Mitchell Stephens replied late in the third period for the Spirit (2-4-1).
