OHL Roundup: Goodrow and Miller lift Battalion to 4-2 win over Wolves @NHL

Barclay Goodrow and Brendan Miller did the heavy lifting for the Brampton Battalion on Sunday.

Goodrow scored a pair of goals and Miller had the eventual power-play winner late in the second period as Brampton doubled the Sudbury Wolves 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League play.

The win snapped a four-game winless streak for the Battalion.

"Huge win for us, especially when it's against a division rival," said Goodrow. "We have a pretty good rivalry with those guys."

Ray Huether opened the scoring for Sudbury with 56 seconds remaining in the first period, taking a Nicholas Baptiste pass in the slot and beating Matej Machovsky with a quick shot.

Brampton tied things up just 34 seconds later when Nick Paul sent Goodrow in on a breakaway and slid a backhand shot five hole on Taylor Dupuis. Goodrow put the Battalion in front at 2:58 of the middle stanza, firing a snapshot past Dupuis as he streaked down the wing.

Sudbury tied it at the 7:36 mark when Brody Silk picked up his own rebound, pouncing on a loose puck in the crease. Miller put the homeside ahead for good with 2:00 to play in the second when his point shot got past Dupuis.

Nicholas Foglia added an insurance marker at 5:48 of the third. Dupuis finished with 33 saves, while Machovsky turned aside 22 of the 24 shots sent his way.

Sudbury was 0-for-3 on the power-play while the Battalion went 1-for-2.
