OHL Roundup: Gabe Guertler leads Greyhounds to 5-1 win over Whalers

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Gabe Guertler scored twice and added an assist as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds sank the Plymouth Whalers 5-1 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Tyler Ganly, Zachary Senyshyn and Bryan Moore rounded out the attack for the Greyhounds (22-6-2), who continue to lead the Western Divison. Brandon Halverson made 16 saves for the win.

Matt Mistele was the lone scorer for the Whalers (10-17-2), who have dropped five straight. Alex Nedeljkovic started in net for Plymouth, stopping 39-of-44 shots in 50:44 of work. Zack Bowman turned aside all six shots he faced in relief.

Sault Ste. Marie went 2 for 6 on the power play, while the Whalers could not score on their two man advantages.
