The Adam Courchaine-Brett Appio got off on the right foot with their new teammates on the Erie Otters.
Courchaine stopped 30 shots in his debut to lead the Erie Otters to a 4-2 win over the Brampton Battalion in Ontario Hockey League play Friday night.
Appio scored his first goal with Erie in Friday night's game. Appio and Courchaine were acquired from Sarnia on Monday.
The Otters snapped a two-game losing skid by winning their third straight at home. The Battalion lost their fifth straight game and ninth in the past 11 overall.
Courchaine had an enjoyable first period as an Otter. He faced only four shots on goal against the OHL's lowest offence. None led to quality scoring chances for the Battalion.

At Kitchener, Ont., Riley Brace had the power-play winner as Mississauga doubled the Rangers.
Jordan Mayer had the other goal for Mississauga (29-8-5).
John Moore opened scoring for Kitchener (28-12-4).

At Saginaw, Mich., the Spirit scored three goals in the third period to rally past Niagara.
Jordan Skellett scored twice and added an assist for Saginaw (22-16-5), while Peter Hermenegildo, Jordan Szwarz and Ryan O'Connor each had a goal and an assist.
Andrew Agozzino, Andrew Shaw and Reggie Traccitto scored for the IceDogs(14-25-5).

At Guelph, Ont., Joey Hishon had the winner and added an assist as Owen Sound nipped the Storm.
Bobby Mignardi and Garrett Wilson both had a goal and an assist for the Attack (20-21-4), while Mike Halmo added a single.
Taylor Beck scored and added an assist to lead Guelph (16-23-3), while Cody McNaughton and Corey Syvret also tallied.

At Kingston, Ont., Stephen Sanza led London with a goal and an assist as the Knights shaded the Frontenacs.
Michael MacDonald and Jared Knight also scored for London (30-11-1).
Kaine Geldart and Mitch Lebar had markers for Kingston (20-20-3).

At Ottawa, Ryan Spooner was the only scorer in the shootout as Peterborough edged Ottawa.
Liam Heelis, Christopher Breen and Justin Larson scored in regulation for the Petes (22-20-3).
Corey Cowick, Thomas Nesbitt and Tyler Cuma provided the offence for the 67's (21-17-7).
Greyhounds 8 Sting 4
At Sarnia, Ont., Vern Cooper and Tomas Rachunek both scored twice as Sault Ste. Marie out-paced the Sting.
Nick Cousins, Jordan Nolan, Brian Shaw and Brett Thompson also scored for the Greyhounds (23-18-4).
Brandon Alderson had a goal and an assist for Sarnia (14-27-3), while Ron Soucie, Zack MacQueen and Kale Kerbashian also had singles.

At Sudbury, Ont., Eric O'Dell had the only goal in the shootout as the Wolves edged Oshawa.
