OHL Roundup: Eric Cornel scores hat trick as Petes double up Generals @NHL

OSHAWA, Ont. - Eric Cornel scored a hat trick as the Peterborough Petes continued their hot streak by doubling up the Oshawa Generals 4-2 on Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Jonathan Ang had the other for the Petes (13-9-4), who are on a 7-0-1 run.

Kenny Huether had both goals for Oshawa (10-13-3).

Dylan Wells stopped 30 shots for the win in net. Jeremy Brodeur started for the Generals, but was pulled after Cornel's third goal of the game at 14:08 of the second. Logan Gauthier went the rest of the way and turned aside 10-of-11 shots in 25:52.

Peterborough was scoreless on two power plays while Oshawa went 0 for 7.



KINGSTON, Ont. ? Jared Steege struck twice as the Frontenacs toppled Guelph.

Ryan Cranford also scored for Kingston (15-8-2).

Isaac Ratcliffe had the lone goal for the Storm (2-20-1), who dropped their seventh straight.



ST. CATHARINES, Ont. ? David Sherman scored the first of five-consecutive goals for North Bay as it downed the IceDogs.

Sherman, Brett McKenzie, shorthanded, Miles Liberati and Cam Dineen all found the back of the net in the second period for the Battalion (11-10-2). Mathew Santos, shorthanded, and Kyle Potts added the others.

Brendan Perlini had the lone goal for Niagara (12-10-2) in the first.


67'S 4 STING 1

OTTAWA ??? Travis Konecny and Sam Studnicka both had a goal and an assist as the 67's won their third straight with a victory over Sarnia.

Austen Keating and Trent Mallette also scored for Ottawa (15-9-1).

Pavel Zacha found the back of the net on the power play for the Sting (13-9-2).



SUDBURY, Ont. ??? Cole Candella scored late in overtime as Hamilton slipped past the Wolves.

Michael Cramarossa and Connor Walters had power-play goals for the Bulldogs (9-15-1) in regulation.

Mikkel Aagaard struck twice for Sudbury (5-17-3), which had its losing streak extended to 11 games.



WINDSOR, Ont. ??? Christian Fischer had a pair of goals to lead the Spitfires over Saginaw.

Anthony Stefano, Gabriel Vilardi and Bradley Latour also chipped in for Windsor (16-6-3).

Kris Bennett had the lone goal for the Spirit (8-15-2).



KITCHENER, Ont. ??? Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Jeremy Bracco had a goal and an assist as the Rangers snapped Barrie's four-game winning streak.

Bracco, Dmitrii Sergeev and Gustaf Franzen all scored in the third period for Kitchener (19-3-3).

Brendan Lemieux scored a power-play goal late in the third for the Colts (16-8-0).

Lemieux was also assessed a game misconduct for spearing at the end of regulation.



LONDON, Ont. ??? Christian Dvorak had a hat trick and added an assist as the Knights dominated Owen Sound.

Matthew Tkachuk had a goal and two assists for London (16-4-2), with Max Jones and Aaron Berisha rounding out the attack. Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick Mitchell Marner and Olli Juolevi tacked on three assists each.

Kevin Hancock scored a short-handed goal in the third period for the Attack (11-9-4).



MISSISSAUGA, Ont. ??? Taylor Raddysh scored his second power-play goal of the game in the third period as Erie got past the Steelheads.

Vanya Lodnia also found the back of the net in the third for the Otters (21-3-1).

Michael McLeod scored 38 seconds into the third period for Mississauga (12-12-2).
