Mark Visentin made 24 saves for his third shutout of the season as the Niagara IceDogs blanked the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 3-0 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Visentin, who made 11 saves in the third period, had a relatively quiet night as his team played a near perfect game in front of him.

The IceDogs improved to 10-9-2.

Goaltender JP Anderson made 41 saves for Mississauga (11-7-4) in the loss.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was: Peterborough 4 Belleville 1; Plymouth 5 Windsor 4 (OT); Kitchener 3 Sarnia 2; Barrie 5 Sudbury 3; and Saginaw 3 Brampton 2 (SO).

At St. Catharines, Ont., Billy Jenkins opened the scoring for Niagara in the final minute of the second period, firing home his second goal of the season from the slot.

Dougie Hamilton increased the IceDogs' lead to 2-0 just 48 seconds into the third with his tenth goal of the season on a snap shot from the top of the circle on a nice cross-ice feed from David Pacan.

Alex Friesen closed out the scoring with 12 seconds left in regulation time, scoring his seventh goal of the season on the power play.

At Peterborough, Ont., Joey West and Stephen Nosad each had a pair of assists as the Petes (12-7-3) beat Belleville (13-8-0).

Whalers 5 Spitfires 4 (OT)

At Windsor, Ont., Austin Levi scored the overtime winner and Matt Mahalak made 27 saves as Plymouth defeated the Spitfires.

At Sarnia, Ont., Tobias Rieder had a goal and an assist as Kitchener (13-6-1) edged the Sting (13-4-4).

Colts 5 Wolves 3

At Barrie, Ont., Josh MacDonald's third-period goal held up as the winner as the Colts (9-8-3) beat Sudbury (9-9-1).

Spirit 3 Battalion 2 (SO)

At Saginaw, Mich., Vincent Trocheck scored in regulation and added the lone shootout goal, helping the Spirit (8-12-2) snap a four-game losing streak with a win over Brampton (12-6-3).
