OHL Roundup: A look at Sunday's games @NHLdotcom

Matej Machovsky turned aside each of the 26 shots that he faced for his fourth shutout of the season as the Brampton Battalion skated to a 3-0 win over the Niagara IceDogs on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.

?That was a good character win for us,? said Battalion forward Brandon Robinson. ?Matej (Machovsky) has been great for us all year."

Philip Lane scored twice and Robinson chipped in with a goal of his own for Brampton (15-10-4).

Christopher Festarini made 35 saves in the loss.

The Battalion scored twice on five opportunities with the man advantage while the IceDogs (15-11-3) went 0-for-5.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Brampton while Niagara had their four-game string of consecutive wins come to an end.

It also moves the Battalion into first place in the Central Division, one point ahead of both the IceDogs and the Barrie Colts.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Windsor 5, Kingston 3; Mississauga 5, Ottawa 2; Sarnia 5, Sault Ste. Marie 2; Guelph 5, Saginaw 1 and Oshawa 9, Peterborough 1.

At Brampton, Ont., Robinson opened the scoring at 19:14 of the first period, beating Festarini for a power-play goal from the high slot.

After a scoreless second period, the Battalion added to their lead at the 13:21 mark of the third when Lane converted on a short-handed breakaway attempt.

Lane rounded out the scoring on the power play, with his second of the afternoon, with 3:33 remaining in the game to give Brampton a 3-0 victory.

At Kingston, Ont., Jaroslav Pavelka stopped 46 of 49 shots and Alexander Khokhlachev scored twice as Windsor (14-14-4) defeated the Frontenacs (7-18-4).


Majors 5 67's 2

At Mississauga, Ont., Riley Brace and Mika Partanen each extended their goal-scoring streaks to lead the St. Michael's Majors (14-11-4) over Ottawa (17-8-4).


Sting 5 Greyhounds 2

At Sarnia, Ont., Brett Thompson scored a hat-trick and Taylor Carnevale added a goal and two assists as the Sting (17-7-5) beat Sault Ste. Marie (14-13-3).


Storm 5 Spirit 1

At Saginaw, Mich., Spencer Turcotte and Patrick Watling each had a goal and an assist to lift Guelph (13-11-4) over the Spirit (11-17-2).


Generals 9 Petes 1

At Oshawa, Ont., Andy Andreoff had two goals and an assist as the Generals (13-14-4) crushed Peterborough (14-10-5).
