OHL Roundup: A look at Saturday's games @NHLdotcom

Seth Griffith extended his point streak to 13 games as the London Knights blanked the host Owen Sound Attack 3-0 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

The 19-year-old forward scored once for London and has nine goals and 17 assists during his streak. He now has 19 goals and 44 points in 26 contests, which is good for second in OHL scoring.

Jake Patterson stopped all 21 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season.

The backup goaltender is 10-1-1 with a 2.12 goals-against average and .926 save percentage in 12 appearances this season.

Matt Rupert had a goal and an assist for the Knights (19-5-0), who have won 11 games in a row, while Chris Tierney scored once.

Jordan Binnington turned away 37-of-40 shots in a losing cause for the Attack (17-5-3), who had their three-game winning streak halted.

Binnington, who has had a shutout in his each of his previous three starts, went 207:22 without giving up a goal before Griffith beat him at 5:54 of the second period.

London went 1 for 4 on the power play while Owen Sound failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Kitchener 4, Erie 2; Guelph 7, Ottawa 5; Niagara 6, Sudbury 5 (SO); Sarnia 8, Peterborough 2; Saginaw 2, Kingston 1 and Barrie 5, Sault Ste. Marie 3.

At Owen Sound, Ont., after a scoreless first period, Griffith and Tierney scored less than five minutes apart in the second period to give London a controlling 2-0 lead.

The Knights outshot the Attack 31-13 through the first 40 minutes and the game could have easily been over already if it wasn't for Binnington.

The two club's traded chances in the third period, however Rupert scored in the final minute of the game to secure the victory.

At Erie, Pa., Matt Puempel scored three times and Tobias Rieder and Radek Faksa each had two assists as Kitchener (16-7-2) doubled up the Otters (7-14-3), who have dropped three straight contests.

At Guelph, Ont., Scott Kosmachuk scored three times and set up one and Zack Mitchell had two goals as the Storm (16-8-3) downed Ottawa (7-17-2).


IceDogs 6 Wolves 5 (SO)

At St. Catharines, Ont., Brett Ritchie scored with seven seconds remaining in regulation and Dougie Hamilton scored the shootout winner as Niagara (17-7-2) came back from a 5-1 deficit in the third period to beat Sudbury (9-14-3).

At Sarnia, Ont., Charlie Sarault scored once and added four assists and Alex Galchenyuk had a goal and three assists as the Sting (13-11-2) halted a five-game winless streak by crushing Peterborough (5-18-2), which has dropped four games in a row.


Spirit 2 Frontenacs 1

At Saginaw, Mich., Terry Trafford scored the game winner with just over four minutes to play in the third period and Nikita Serebryakov stopped all but one of the 33 shots he faced for his first career OHL win as the Spirit (11-13-3) edged Kingston (13-11-0).


Colts 5 Greyhounds 3

At Barrie, Ont., Mark Scheifele had three goals and an assist and Mathias Niederberger turned aside 30 shots as the Colts (18-7-1) defeated Sault Ste. Marie (11-13-2).
