OHL Roundup: A look at Saturday's games @NHL

Daniel Catenacci scored once and assisted on four more as the Owen Sound Attack downed the visiting Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 7-5 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.

The 19-year-old centre has three goals and eight points in his last two outings and 14 goals and 32 points on the season, which leads his club in scoring.

Cameron Brace had a goal and two assists for the Attack (14-3-3), who have taken over first in the OHL standings from the Barrie Colts, while Jaden Lindo and Joseph Blandisi each had a goal and an assist.

Gemel Smith, Kurtis Gabriel and Zach Nastasiuk all had single goals to round out Owen Sound's offence.

David Broll and Sergey Tolchinksy scored two goals apiece for the Greyhounds (9-10-1), who have lost four games in a row, and Brandon Alderson had a goal and an assist.

Jordan Binnington made 33 saves for the win as Justin Nichols stopped 36-of-43 shots in a losing cause.

Owen Sound went 3 for 5 on the power play while Sault Ste. Marie finished the game 2 for 4.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Erie 6, Oshawa 1; Niagara 5, Peterborough 2; London 5, Plymouth 0; Saginaw 4, Belleville 3 (OT) and Brampton 4, Barrie 3.

At Owen Sound, Ont., the Attack jumped out to a 2-0 lead when Gabriel and Nastasiuk scored power-play goals less than five minutes apart, but Tolchinsky responded with a goal with the man advantage at 17:25 to make it 2-1 Owen Sound after 20 minutes of play.

Broll tied the game for the Greyhounds 3:31 into the second period, however the Attack scored three straight goals to make it 5-2.

Catenacci scored at 13:04, Lindo followed at 15:12 and Brace added another at 16:51.

Tolchinsky scored with just 18 seconds remaining in the second period to make it 5-3 after 40 minutes of play.

Broll brought Sault Ste. Marie within one goal when he scored on the power play at 6:44 of the third period, but Blandisi responded at 9:50 for the Attack.

Alderson kept the Greyhounds in the game with a goal at 18:21, but Smith sealed the win with a power-play goal at 19:46.

At Erie, Pa., Oscar Dansk stopped 49-of-50 shots and Stephen Harper scored twice as the Otters (6-11-3) picked up back-to-back wins for the first time all season by downing Oshawa (11-8-2).

At St. Catharines, Ont., Ryan Strome scored twice and added an assist, which gives him an OHL best 37 points in 21 games, and Chris Festarini stopped 42 shots as Niagara (12-8-1) beat Peterborough (4-13-3), which has lost six straight games.


Knights 5 Whalers 0

At Plymouth, Mich., Matt Rupert scored a natural hat trick and Kevin Bailie made 36 saves as London (12-5-2) blanked the Whalers (10-6-3) for its fourth straight victory.


Spirit 4 Bulls 3 (OT)

At Belleville, Ont., Garret Ross scored the winner 2:42 into overtime and added two assists, while Jake Paterson stopped 33 shots, as Saginaw (8-10-2) edged the Bulls (9-6-3).


Battalion 4 Colts 3

At Barrie, Ont., Nicholas Foglia scored the winning goal late in the third period and Matej Machovsky made 24 saves as Brampton (7-8-5) picked up its first road win of the season by downing the Colts (14-5-1).
