OHL Roundup: A look at Saturday's games @NHLdotcom

If you give the league's top-ranked power play enough chances, it will come back to haunt you.

Alex Friesen and Tom Kuhnhackl each scored goals with the man advantage Saturday as the Niagara IceDogs defeated the Sarnia Sting 4-2 in the Ontario Hockey League.

The IceDogs have a league-best 51 goals on the power play and are scoring at a rate of 26.7 per cent.

Ryan Strome had a goal and two assists for Niagara (24-13-3) to earn first star of the game, while Steven Shipley also scored.

Ryan Spooner and Anthony DeAngelo responded for Sarnia (20-16-5).

Mark Visentin made 35 saves for the win. JP Anderson stopped 36 shots in defeat.

The IceDogs finished the game 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Sting scored twice on seven opportunities with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Kitchener 6, Erie 4; Ottawa 3, Belleville 2; Peterbrough 4, Mississauga 3 (SO); Plymouth 4, Saginaw 3 (SO); London 3, Barrie 2; Owen Sound 4, Brampton 3 (OT); and Guelph 6, Sault Ste. Marie 1.

At St. Catharines, Ont., Friesen opened the scoring on the power play at 17:14 of the first.

Spooner responded early in the second with a power-play goal to even the game, but the IceDogs scored twice in under five minutes for a two-goal lead.

Kuhnhackl scored first at 4:52, with the man advantage, followed by Strome at 9:25.

DeAngelo got one back for the Sting at 15:57 to cut Niagara's lead to 3-2 heading into the final period.

But Shipley scored the IceDogs' fourth goal at 11:22 to put the game out of reach.

Rangers 6, Otters 4

At Erie, Pa., Kitchener (26-11-1) scored four straight goals in the third period to come from behind and defeat the Otters (5-32-2).


67's 3, Bulls 2

At Belleville, Ont., Tyler Toffoli scored once and set up two more as Ottawa (24-10-5) handed the Bulls (21-17-1) their fifth straight loss.


Petes 4, Majors 3 (SO)

At Peterborough, Ont., Lino Martschini scored once in regulation and added the shootout winner as the Petes (19-15-6) defeated Mississauga (18-15-6).


Whalers 4, Spirit 3 (SO)

At Plymouth, Mich., the Whalers (27-9-3) picked up their fifth straight win after Andy Bathgate scored the shootout winner to defeat Saginaw (17-20-3).


Knights 3, Colts 2

At Barrie, Ont., Tyler Ferry scored the winner with 2:47 to go as London (30-8-1) edged the Colts (23-15-3).


Attack 4, Battalion 3 (OT)

At Owen Sound, Ont., Jay Gilbert scored twice, including the winner in overtime, and Cameron Brace added two goals of his own as the Attack (19-17-5) beat Brampton (22-10-7).


Storm 6, Greyhounds 1

At Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Francis Menard scored three goals and set up one more while Tanner Richard chipped in four assists to lead Guelph (16-17-5) over the Greyhounds (18-20-4).
