OHL Roundup: A look at Saturday's games @NHL

The Owen Sound Attack are on a three-game winning streak after defeating the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors in a 4-3 shootout on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Mike Halmo scored the shootout winner as Gemel Smith scored all three of the Attack's (11-10-2) regulation time goals.

Justin Rasmussen led the Majors (11-5-4) with two goals while Riley Brace scored the other.

Jordan Binnington made 39 saves for the win as JP Anderson stopped 38 shots in defeat.

Both teams went 1-for-9 on the power play.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: London 4, Erie 1; Niagara 4, Windsor 3; Belleville 4 Saginaw 3 (SO); Oshawa 6, Ottawa 3; Plymouth 8, Sault Ste. Marie 0; Peterborough 7, Barrie 4 and Sudbury 6, Guelph 3.

At Owen Sound, Ont., after a scoreless first period, the Majors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second period as Rasmussen scored two short-handed goals just over two minutes apart.

The Attack cut the lead in half at the nine-minute mark when Smith scored his first of the night on the power play but Mississauga regained their two-goal lead when Brace scored a power-play goal at 11:42.

The Majors kept their two-goal lead right up until the final six minutes of the game but Smith scored two more times, once at 14:02 and again at 18:34, to tie the game at three and force overtime.

After no scoring in the extra period, Halmo scored in the shootout to give the Attack a 4-3 win.

At London, Ont., Vladislav Namestnikov scored two goals and assisted on another as the Knights (16-3-1) defeated Erie (3-15-0).

At St. Catharines, Ont., Ryan Strome scored two goals as Niagara (9-9-2) edged Windsor (10-11-2).


Bulls 4 Spirit 3 (SO)

At Belleville, Ont., Luke Judson scored the shootout winner as the Bulls (11-7-0) beat Saginaw (7-11-2).


Generals 6 67's 3

At Oshawa, Ont., Nicklas Jensen scored twice to lead the Generals (10-11-2) past Ottawa (12-6-2).


Whalers 8 Greyhounds 0

At Plymouth, Mich., Mitchell Heard scored two goals and added two assists while Scott Wedgewood turned aside all 30 shots he faced as the Whalers (12-6-3) shut out Sault Ste. Marie (13-8-0).


Petes 7 Colts 4

At Barrie, Ont., Slater Koekkoek had a goal and three assists as Peterborough (11-6-3) defeated the Colts (8-8-3).


Wolves 6 Storm 3

At Guelph., Ont., Michael Sgarbossa scored three goals and added an assist as Sudbury (9-8-1) defeated the Storm (8-7-3).
