OHL Roundup: A Look at Saturday's games in the Ontario Hockey League @NHL

Erie's eight-game losing streak is over thanks to Liam Maaskant's first Ontario Hockey League goal.

Maaskant scored 3:22 into overtime to lift the Erie Otters over the Kitchener Rangers 4-3 Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Fellow rookie Stephen Harper had two goals and an assist and Johnny McGuire added a single to round out the Otters (2-12-0) scoring.

Tobias Rieder, Matia Marcantuoni and Radek Faksa scored for the Rangers (8-5-1).

Ramis Sadikov made 26 saves for the win while Franky Palazzese turned aside 31 shots forthe loss.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Sudbury 2 Niagara 1 (SO); Peterborough 4, Belleville 1; Plymouth 3, Kingston 1; Sarnia 3, Saginaw 2; Barrie 5, Windsor 1; Owen Sound 6, Oshawa 2 and Sault Ste. Marie 3, Guelph 2.

In Erie, Pa., Kitchener jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead when Faksa and Marcantuoni scored less than seven minutes into the game.

McGuire's first goal of the season cut the lead in half as the Otters trailed 2-1 after the first period.

Rieder's scored 22 seconds into the second period, regaining Kitchener's two goal lead.

It didn't last long however, as Harper's first goal of the game cut the lead to 3-2 after 40 minutes of play.

Harper scored again 2:37 into the third period to complete the comeback and force overtime.

At St. Catharines, Ont., Matthew Campagna and Michael Sgarbossa scored in the shootout leading Sudbury (6-6-1) over Niagara (7-6-2).


Petes 4 Bulls 1

At Belleville, Ont., Mike Morrison turned away 41 of 42 shots as Peterborugh (7-5-3) beat the Bulls (7-7-0).


Whalers 3 Frontenacs 1

At Plymouth, Mich., Stefan Noesen assisted on all three Whalers (8-6-2) goals to beat Kingston (2-11-3).


Sting 3 Spirit 2

At Saginaw, Mich., Nail Yakupov and Ludwig Rensfeldt each had a goal and an assist to lead Sarnia (11-2-2) over the Spirit (6-10-0).


Colts 5 Spitfires 1

At Barrie, Ont., Mark Scheifele had a goal and three assists in his home debut as the Colts (7-6-1) beat Windsor (8-7-2).


Attack 6 Generals 2

At Owen Sound, Ont., Gemel Smith had two goals and an assist to lead the Attack (7-8-2) past Oshawa (7-7-2).


Storm 5 Greyhounds 3

At Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Zack Mitchell led the Storm (7-4-2) with two goals as Guelph beat the Greyhounds (10-6-0)
