OHL Roundup: A look at Friday's games @NHL

The Erie Otters have finally put an end to their 13-game winless streak.

Jake Evans and Travis Wood each scored twic as the Otters defeated the Sarnia Sting 7-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Friday.

Stephen Harper, Greg McKegg and Connor Brown added a goal and an assist each for Erie (4-24-1).

Craig Hottot responded with two goals for Sarnia (17-8-5) and Domenic Alberga had the other.

Ramis Sadikov stopped 25 shots for the win.

Sarnia's Brandon Hope allowed three goals on 15 shots before being replaced by Brandon Maxwell, who allowed four goals in relief.

Neither team was assessed a penalty all game.

The win was the Otters' first since Nov. 4, when they defeated the Guelph Storm 3-2. Their winless streak consisted of 12 regulation losses and one in a shootout.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Plymouth 4, Belleville 3; Barrie 8, Guelph 5; Brampton 7, Kingston 4; Windsor 3, Kitchener 2; London 7, Peterborough 4; Niagara 4, Mississauga 3; Sault Ste. Marie 5, Ottawa 2 and Sudbury 5, Oshawa 4.

At Sarnia, Ont., Hottot scored at 4:29 to open the scoring and give the Sting a 1-0 lead.

McKegg replied one minute later and Evans scored at 11:02 to give the Otters a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.

Wood and Harper scored second period goals to increase Erie's lead to 4-1 but Hottot's second goal of the game made it 4-2 heading into the third period.

Brown scored 24 seconds into the third and Wood scored his second of the game at 4:54 to make it 6-2 Otters.

Alberga scored at 12:59 but Evans put in his second of the game with less than four minutes remaining to make it a 7-3 final for Erie.

At Plymouth, Mich., Dario Trutmann, Stefan Noesen, Mitchell Heard and J.T. Miller each scored for the Whalers (20-8-3) as they edged Belleville (19-11-0).


Colts 8 Storm 5

At Guelph, Ont., five players recorded multi-point games for Barrie, including Mark Scheifele who had two goals and two assists, as the Colts (17-10-3) defeated the Storm (13-12-4).


Battalion 7 Frontenacs 4

At Kingston, Ont., Adam Lloyd and Mitchell Porowski had two goals each to lead Brampton (16-10-3) against the Frontenacs (7-19-4).


Spitfires 3 Rangers 2

At Kitchener, Ont., John Cullen made 41 saves and Brady Vail had a goal and an assist as Windsor (16-14-4) beat the Rangers (20-9-1).


Knights 7 Petes 4

At London, Ont., Seth Griffith led London (23-6-1) with three goals and an assist and Vladislav Namestnikov chipped in with four assists to down Peterborough (14-12-5).


IceDogs 4 Majors 3

At Mississauga, Ont., The IceDogs' top line of Ryan Strome, Steven Shipley and Freddie Hamilton combined for 10 points to propel Niagara (17-11-3) over the Majors (14-12-4).


Greyhounds 5 67's 2

At Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Michael Schumacher scored a pair of goals and Jack Cambell made 46 saves as the Greyhounds (15-14-3) beat Ottawa (17-9-4).


Wolves 5 Generals 4

At Sudbury, Ont., Josh Leivo scored twice and added an assist for the Wolves (16-10-1) asthey came from behind to defeat Oshawa (13-15-4).
