Right wing Corey Perry scored with 3:47 left in overtime to give the Anaheim Ducks a 3-2 win against the San Jose Sharks in the preseason finale at Honda Center on Sunday.

Forward Jakub Silfverberg scored two goals and goalie Jonathan Bernier made 30 saves for Anaheim, which opens the regular season Thursday against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center (8:30 p.m. ET; FS-SW, PRIME).

Forward Joonas Donskoi had a goal and an assist, and defenseman David Schlemko scored on a power play for San Jose. Goalie Aaron Dell allowed three goals on 25 shots.

The Sharks play their season opener Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings at SAP Center (10:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN).

Capitals shut out Islanders

Braden Holtby made 24 saves in the Washington Capitals' 4-0 win against the New York Islanders at Verizon Center. 

Andre Burakovsky scored 1:06 into the game and Lars Eller and Alex Ovechkin had goals in the second period for the Capitals, who open the regular season at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday. T.J. Oshie scored with 5:07 remaining. Washington went 1-for-7 on the power play. 

Jaroslav Halak stopped 23 of 27 shots for the Islanders, who begin the regular season at the New York Rangers on Thursday. New York went 0-for-5 on the power play.
