Defenseman Duncan Keith had two assists in his preseason debut, and six Chicago Blackhawks scored in a 6-1 victory against the Detroit Red Wings at United Center on Tuesday.
Keith withdrew from Team Canada for the World Cup of Hockey 2016 on Aug. 24 because of a right-knee injury.
Ryan Hartman and Vinnie Hinostroza scored in the first period to give the Blackhawks a 2-0 lead, and Richard Panik made it 3-0 with a power-play goal at 3:42 of the second. After Detroit forward Louis-Marc Aubry's goal at 14:05 made it 3-1, Nick Schmaltz scored with 1:23 left in the period for a 4-1 Chicago lead.
Alexandre Fortin and Artem Anisimov each had a third-period goal.
Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard allowed all six goals. Blackhawks starting goalie Corey Crawford made saves on all eight shots he faced in 30:27, and Scott Darling allowed one goal on 10 shots in 28:56.

Senators defeat Maple Leafs in OT
Bobby Ryan scored 21 seconds into overtime to give the Ottawa Senators a 3-2 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Senators forward Matt Puempel tied it 2-2 in the third period.
Derick Brassard gave Ottawa a 1-0 lead with his goal in the first period.
Byron Froese and Kasperi Kapanen scored in the third period to put Toronto ahead 2-1.

Stars defeat Panthers in shootout
Denis Gurianov scored the only goal of a five-round shootout to give the Dallas Stars a 2-1 win against the Florida Panthers.
Paul Thompson scored for Florida and Patrick Eaves scored for Dallas in the second period.
Stars captain Jamie Benn had an assist and played 19:36 in his first game since having core-muscle surgery this offseason.
James Reimer made 34 saves for Florida. Antti Niemi made 27 saves for Dallas.

Sabres shut out Hurricanes at Hockeyville
Nicolas Deslauriers and Sam Reinhart scored to back the shutout goaltending of Robin Lehner for the Buffalo Sabres in a 2-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The game was part of Kraft Hockeyville USA in Marquette, Michigan.
Deslauriers and Reinhart scored in the second period.

Daniel Carr gives Canadiens win
Daniel Carr scored a third-period goal to give the Montreal Canadiens a 4-3 win against the Boston Bruins.
Carr broke a 3-3 tie with 4:50 remaining. Alex Galchenyuk scored for Montreal 18 seconds after Austin Czarnik scored to give Boston a 3-2 lead 20 seconds into the third period.
Christian Ehrhoff, in his first game with the Bruins on a professional tryout contract, scored for a 2-0 lead. Ryan Spooner also scored for Boston.
Jeff Petry and Artturi Lehtonen scored for Montreal.
It was the first preseason game for Bruins forward David Krejci and defenseman Torey Krug, each returning from injury. Defenseman Kevan Miller left the game with a lower-body injury.
The game was played at Videotron Centre in Quebec City.
Josh Bailey OT goal lifts Islanders past Rangers
Josh Bailey scored at 4:38 of overtime to give the New York Islanders a 3-2 victory against the New York Rangers at Barclays Center.
Bailey had an assist on Cal Clutterbuck's third-period goal, his second of the night, to make it 2-1 Islanders.
Rangers forward Nicklas Jensen tied it 2-2 with 8:59 remaining.
Chris Kreider scored for the Rangers in the first period.
Islanders goalie Jean-Francois Berube made 23 saves, and Rangers goalie Antti Raanta had 39.

Blue Jackets defeat Predators in overtime
William Karlsson scored 1:17 into overtime to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a 3-2 win against the Nashville Predators.
P.K. Subban scored his second goal of the preseason, and Viktor Arvidsson scored in the third period for Nashville, which trailed 2-0. Pekka Rinne made 20 saves on 23 shots.
Oliver Bjorkstrand and Zach Werenski scored for Columbus. Anton Forsberg shut out Nashville on 21 shots in the first 30:38.
Semyon Varlamov, Avalanche shut out Wild
Semyon Varlamov made 30 saves to help the Colorado Avalanche to a 2-0 win against the Minnesota Wild at Pepsi Center.
Chris Bigras and Carl Soderberg each scored in the second period.
Wild starting goalie Darcy Kuemper made 13 saves on 15 shots through two periods. Alex Stalock made saves on all four shots he faced in the third period.
Oilers defeat Ducks
Patrick Maroon had a goal and an assist, and Cam Talbot made 25 saves for the Edmonton Oilers in a 2-1 win against the Anaheim Ducks.
Nick Sorensen scored a first-period goal for Anaheim to make it 1-1. Mark Letestu broke the tie with 4:45 left in the second.
John Gibson made 35 saves for Anaheim.
