NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals overcame an early deficit to stretch their American Hockey League-record winning streak to 22.

Ondrej Palat and Philip-Michael Devos each scored to lead the Admirals past the St. John's IceCaps 2-1 on Friday.

Aaron Gagnon put the IceCaps (39-21-8) ahead 1-0 on the power play just 2:11 into the game.

But Palat tied the game in the second period and Devos scored the winner 10:41 into the third for Norfolk (49-18-3).

The Admirals haven't lost a game since Super Bowl Sunday and own the longest streak in AHL or NHL history.

After the early misstep Admirals goaltender Jaroslav Janus settled down to finish with 20 saves.

David Aebischer meanwhile stopped 25 shots two nights after the IceCaps fell 2-0 to Norfolk. The loss also prevented St. John's from securing its first-ever playoff berth
