Nino Niederreiter scores two for Portland as Winterhawks beat Chiefs 5-3 @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - Nino Niederreiter scored twice for Portland as the Winterhawks beat the Spokane Chiefs 5-3 in Western Hockey League action Friday.

Brad Ross, Riley Boychuk and Colin Reddin into an empty net also scored for the Winterhawks (4-1-0-0).

Tyler Johnson, Mitch Wahl and Kyle Beach replied for Spokane (2-1-1-0).

Ian Curtis made 23 saves in the win, while James Reid stopped 31 shots in the loss.
