Nikita Kucherov and the Tampa Bay Lightning aren't expected to discuss a new contract in the offseason.
The 24-year-old forward, who finished third in the NHL with a career high 100 points (39 goals, 61 assists) this season, has one year remaining on a three-year contract and can become a restricted free agent after next season.

Kucherov and the Lightning won the Atlantic Division but were eliminated by the Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference Final in seven games. Kucherov had 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 17 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

His agent, Dan Milstein, told The Athletic the sides have not had any contract talks and aren't expected to until next season starts.
"He wants to stay in Tampa, he doesn't want to go anywhere," Milstein said. "Worst case, it's arbitration. They're not going to lose him. Both sides want him to be in Tampa."
Should Kucherov and the Lightning not agree on a contract, it would be settled in an arbitration hearing, meaning he would remain with Tampa Bay for the 2019-20 season.
Kucherov has scored at least 30 goals the past three seasons and has increased his point total in each season in the NHL. He has 334 points (147 goals, 187 assists) in 365 regular-season games and 59 points (29 goals, 30 assists) in 62 playoff games.
