SARNIA, Ont. - Anthony Nigro had a goal and two assists as the Ottawa 67's jumped out to a 4-0 lead and held on to beat the Sarnia Sting 5-4 on Saturday night in the Ontario Hockey League.
Ottawa (22-14-0-2), with the No. 1 power play in the OHL, scored twice with the man advantage in the first period on its way to a 3-0 lead after one. Marc Zanetti and Logan Couture scored man advantage goals for the 67's, while Logan Couture scored at even strength.
The Sting (19-17-2-2) gave up another power play goal early in the second period by Ottawa's Corey Cowick before scoring three straight goals to pull within one. Miroslav Preisinger got the Sting on the board at 4:40 of the middle period, then Matt Martin and Justin DiBenedetto added power play goals for Sarnia at 10:07 and 17:50 of the second.
However, with just 14 seconds left in the period, Ottawa's Thomas Kiriakou scored again to regain a two-goal cushion.
Sarnia's Jamie Arniel scored the only goal of the third period on the power play.
Chris Perugini made 32 saves for the 67's, while Sting netminder Dan Spence stopped 28 shots.
