BARRIE, Ont. - Mathias Niederberger made 22 saves to earn his first career Ontario Hockey League playoff shutout as the Barrie Colts blanked the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 4-0 Monday.
Ivan Telegin and Ryan O'Connor each had a goal and an assist for the Colts, who took a 2-1 series lead in the Eastern Conference quarter-final.
Mark Scheifele and Anthony Camara also scored for Barrie, while Steven Beyers and Chris Buonomo each had two assists.
The Majors could only muster five shots on Barrie's net in the third period, as they lost their second consecutive road playoff game.
The Colts were potent on the power play, going 3-for-9 on the night. Mississauga went 0-for-3.
Majors starter Brandon Maxwell, who had a shutout in Game 2, made 31 saves in the loss.
Game 4 of the series goes Tuesday night in Mississauga.
