WASHINGTON - John Carlson, Jay Beagle and Nicklas Backstrom all left with injuries during the Washington Capitals' 5-2 comeback win over the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night.
Carlson missed the previous two games with an upper-body injury. Coach Barry Trotz said Carlson will sit Thursday night against the Carolina Hurricanes and that the team will "see after that."
Beagle will undergo surgery for an upper-body injury and be out for an extended period of time. He appeared to get hurt during the second period and did not return.
Backstrom saw his last action late in the second. Trotz said the centre will travel with the team and could play at Carolina.
