Nick Spaling scores two goals to lead Rangers over Majors 5-2 @NHLdotcom

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Forward Nick Spaling scored a pair of goals and added an assist as the Kitchener Rangers defeated the Mississauga-St. Michael's Majors 5-2 in the Ontario Hockey League on Wednesday night.

Both Spaling goals were scored while the Rangers (17-3-0-0) were on the power play.

He scored once in the first period and added his second goal of the night and 19th of the season in the second. He drew the assist on Steven Tarasuk's first goal of the season in the third period.

Matt Halischuk and Brandon Mashinter had the other goals for the Rangers. Halischuk's goal was his ninth this year.

Rookie Casey Cizikas and defenceman Tim Billingsley scored for the Majors (7-10-1-0), losers of three straight.

Kitchener's Josh Unice stopped 29 shots. The Rangers had 25 shots at Mississauga goalie Anthony Grieco.
