Niagara's offence comes alive in 2nd period in 6-1 win over Brampton @NHLdotcom

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Niagara IceDogs scored four goals in the second period en route to a 6-1 victory over the Brampton Battalion in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Ryan Strome opened the scoring for the IceDogs 1:07 into the second period with his team-leading fourteenth goal of the season. Just 34 seconds later Alex Friesen made it 2-0.

Mitchell Theoret and David Pacan also scored in the second for Niagara (12-10-2).

Myles Doan and Carter Verhaeghe, on the power play with the first goal of his OHL career, closed out the IceDogs scoring in the third period.

Sam Carrick had the lone goal for Brampton (14-8-3).

Niagara goaltender Mark Visentin made 29 saves to pick up the victory in goal, while Keegan Wilson turned aside 35 shots in the loss.
